Working Together to Touch Lives in Rwanda and London

Come join us for a festive evening at Highland Country Club to support women in Rwanda and London! Zirikana and Karen’s Place are teaming up to make a difference. Enjoy a night of holiday decorating tips, shopping, food, and fun while contributing to two great causes.

We are expecting to sell out the event this year so buy your tickets early!

Karen’s Place London offers safe and supportive, shared transitional living for women who are 50 years of age and older, are homeless, precariously housed, or have no fixed address. We are committed to promoting and maintaining clients through a program that allows them up to two years to transition from homelessness to successfully living more independently in the community. We believe a supportive environment in our home will give residents the opportunity to recognize their own transitional journey.

Zirikana is the umbrella organization for the non-profits Living with Happiness and Rwandan Mothers Team.

As young girls, founders Aimee and Clarisse survived the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi but lost their parents and 4 siblings. The 1994 Genocide against Tutsi left the country ravaged, families destroyed, and many girls growing up without a mother figure. Through this tragedy, however, has grown hope, and revival of life and culture.

Zirikana works with women and children to support family harmony, resilience and sustainable financial security. Volunteers provide programs to promote mental health, parenting education, empowerment, entrepreneurship through micro-enterprise, and youth development.

The greatest outcome of these efforts is that the women have become part of a supportive community that helps each other to feel worthy, to belong, and to raise their children to be educated, confident and successful. It is a wonderful thing to know that this work is largely funded by generous people like you in London Ontario.
