This training will give participants an opportunity to examine their relationship to money and apply that knowledge to their treatment protocol. Arlene Miller’s experience working with a wide variety of addicted clients will be meshed with her many years of treating individuals, couples and families in a private practice mental health setting. The workshop will be dialectic, practical and experiential. She has been a strong advocate for the discussion of money matters with all clients in various settings: this presentation teaches us why and how to do that.At the end of the training participants will be able to examine and develop self-awareness about their own relationship to money and identify how that reflects on their clinical interactions with clients. They will be able to identify and teach the key elements of a healthy relationship to money. Also included will be strategies for raising children with competent
money management skills.
Arlene Miller, LCSW, was initially trained as a community mental health counselor and completed a Gestalt training program as well as advanced training in marriage and family
therapy. Over time she completed certifications as a substance abuse and gambling counselor. She taught group therapy at St. Louis Community College. Arlene has presented basic and
advanced gambling and addiction training to numerous agencies, organizations, schools, congregations and professionals in various settings.
This training is free for Psychotherapy St. Louis members or $40 for non-members.
