The time is finally here... Join us for Tassie's first Working Packdog Novice Mock Trial! 🐕 🥳If you are interested in entering our March 2026 Working Packdog Novice Trial but you aren't sure how you will go, or what it's all about... then this mock trial is for you!
This is a full practice run for our March 2026 trials, and is an opportunity to learn how our trial will be run, gauge your dog's fitness and ability, and feel more prepared for our upcoming trial.
✨ This is a very important step in being able to run our March 2026 trial. Participation is highly encouraged, and we would love to see some new faces who can't usually make it to our regular group hikes ✨

Saturday, February 28th
⏰ TIME
Check-in between 7am-7:30am. Please arrive on time for check in.
Mock Trial: Begins 8am
📍 LOCATION
Domain Track, Hobart
We will meet at the Regatta Carpark, Hobart, and our hike will start from there.
🌲 HIKE
This is a 16km hike (well, slightly less but elevation equates to walking 16km). Our hike will take us between 4-5 hours as a group, with frequent breaks.
🥾 WHAT TO BRING: Your dog! Good walking shoes, and layers. It gets cold and hot quickly in Feb. A hat, sunscreen and sun protection. Plenty of water for yourself and your dog. It is a good idea to bring some food for yourself and your dog. A lead that does not exceed 2 meters. Treat and poo bags. Your dog must carry their own pack, with a starting weight of 15% of their body weight. They must end the trial with at least half of this weight still in their pack.
COST: $10 per entry. Maximum of 2 dogs allowed per handler.
