Working in partnership with VCSE organisations in health research

The South East London VCSE sector is often a long-standing and trusted source of health and wellbeing support for individuals and families. It also plays a key role in addressing health inequalities, supporting and advocating for the needs of local communities, and typically provides essential services to the those who are most vulnerable and marginalised. Working collaboratively with VCSE organisations as equitable partners offers an important route to ethically engaging with communities in health research.

This one-day training will explore:

• What good community-led research and ethical community involvement looks like in practice
• The benefits of partnership working with the VCSE across the research lifecycle
• Different types of relationships and models for partnership working
• The principles for successful partnership working
• The practical steps to develop partnerships.

This training has specifically been designed for academics and researchers working in health research who are keen to work more collaboratively with community organisations and communities in South East London.
