Working Equitation - Ease of Handling (Obstacles)📆 Multiple dates from Feb/March until Oct/Nov.
Check Equichanics Facebook Events section for up-to-date information regularly but the initial dates are posted as a list at the bottom of this description too.
Venue(s):
Ayton PRE, North Tawton or
Courtway Equestrian, Clyst. St Mary, Exeter.
THE EASE OF HANDLING TEST consists of a course of obstacles, replicating those that may be found when working in the countryside. For example, a gate, a bridge and a jump. There are also other more technical obstacles such as the parallel slalom, straight slalom and barrels all of which at Advanced level require the horse and rider to perform flying changes in specific places in order to perform the obstacle correctly. Riders are given a mark out of ten for precision, submission and ease of movement for each obstacle.
As always, for introduction/education purposes, the session can be in-hand and/or ridden.
Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Each session will have 1hr allocated to it.
ARENA and OBSTACLE HIRE IS INCLUDED IN PRICES
(Prices updated 13/08/24).
Groups of 3 (max number) are £35 per person.
Shared is £45 per person.
One to one is £75.
Happy to discuss prices for different time allotments (30min/1.5hrs) too.
About the trainer:
Tina Fitzgibbon is an Association for British Working Equitation (ABWE) approved Instructor and Judge.
Her history is as showjump/event rider and she started Equichanics in 2012. Her business combines her practical experience to coach people with their horses at home/competitions, and her academic qualifications of Equine Science & Management and Postgraduate Certificate in Education to run practical and educational clinics for groups at various venues.
Her passion is correct postural biomechanics developed in-hand to ridden, giving horses the best opportunity to have long, happy athletic careers. Her interest in Working Equitation stemmed from a love of teaching with obstacles, giving both horse and rider tangible reasons for their flatwork which can turn something that some find boring into fun!
