About this event

As a business becomes busier, informal ways of working can quickly become difficult to manage.

Customer details may be stored in different places, follow-ups can be missed and administration begins to take up increasing amounts of time. At the same time, uncertainty around cashflow, pricing and profitability can make it harder to make confident decisions.

This event brings together two workshops focused on the internal workings of your business.

Business Systems & Smarter Ways of Working will help you improve organisation, streamline tasks and explore practical systems that save time.

Financial Foundations for Stability will help you better understand your numbers and introduce practical approaches to cashflow, pricing and digital financial management.

Meet your speakers

Workshop E

Gary Salters, GoSucceed

Gary Salters is the founder of GoSucceed, a proven business growth system designed to help entrepreneurs build confidence, increase revenue, and create sustainable success through sales. Through his practical and accessible approach, Gary has helped business owners simplify sales, strengthen their mindset, and implement systems that actually work. His GoSucceed framework focuses on building confidence, creating structure, and turning everyday conversations into meaningful business opportunities.

Workshop F

Lisa Young, Lets Do Business Finance

Lisa has worked as a trusted provider of business support, helping small businesses to develop and grow, through business consultancy, access to finance, marketing and business training. During her career Lisa has also worked for NatWest/RBS as a business relationship manager, where she supported her clients with their day to day banking as well as their funding requirements. Discovering she had a real knack for helping business owners succeed, in 2018 she set up her own business as a business coach to work with owners in her home county of Kent.

Workshop E: Business Systems & Smarter Ways of Working

The systems used during the early stages of a business may not continue to work as customers, responsibilities and administration increase.

This workshop will help you review how you currently manage everyday activity and identify straightforward improvements.

You will explore tools and systems that can help you organise contacts, track enquiries, manage tasks and create more consistent ways of working.

What we’ll cover
  • Identifying where time is being lost
  • Creating simple and repeatable processes
  • Managing contacts and customer information
  • Understanding the role of CRM systems
  • Tracking enquiries and follow-ups
  • Task and workflow management
  • Digital productivity tools
  • Appropriate uses of automation and AI
  • Choosing systems that suit the size of your business

You’ll leave with
  • A better understanding of where your processes could improve
  • Ideas to reduce administrative pressure
  • Practical systems to explore
  • Clear actions to improve organisation
  • More consistent ways to manage customers and tasks

Workshop F: Financial Foundations for Stability

Small business finance can feel complicated, particularly when you are trying to manage cashflow, pricing, costs and tax responsibilities at the same time.

This workshop will explain the core financial information every business owner should understand using clear, accessible language.

The focus will be on helping you use your numbers to make better decisions rather than simply viewing finance as a compliance task.

What we’ll cover
  • Understanding income, costs and profit
  • Managing business cashflow
  • Reviewing pricing
  • Understanding profitability
  • Identifying important financial indicators
  • Planning for tax and future costs
  • Making decisions using financial information
  • Digital bookkeeping tools
  • Preparing for Making Tax Digital
  • Platforms such as Xero, Hubdoc and FreeAgent

You’ll leave with
  • A clearer understanding of your business finances
  • Greater confidence reviewing your numbers
  • Practical ideas to improve cashflow
  • A better understanding of pricing and profitability
  • Actions to strengthen your financial management

Why are these workshops paired?

Good systems help you collect and manage reliable information. Strong financial understanding helps you use that information to make informed decisions.

Together, the workshops will help you create a business that is better organised, easier to manage and supported by a clearer understanding of its financial position.
