Welcome to a circus residency showing with Simon Granit Ossoinak, Arvi Yrjölä and Kevin Franzen of their project Concrete Jungle, a performance about play and creativity.
Date: Thursday 28 of May
Time: 12:00 – 12:40.
Place: Cirkuslillan, floor 3 in Subtopias main building. Rotemannavägen 10 in Alby, Botkyrka.
Concrete Jungle is happening on a large metal structure with three acrobats and parkour practitioners. What if the boring grey spaces in our society could be an endless source of fun, camaraderie, growth and freedom?
The artists will show a 15-20 minute work in progress presentation followed by a conversation where they will be happy to receive the audience’s thoughts, questions and feedback.
About the artists:
Simon Granit Ossoinak is a director and artist educated at Codarts and Cirkus Cirkör who’s been making his own shows with his base in Rotterdam for the last years, touring both in NL, Belgium & UK as well as the nordic countries. Recently moved back to his hometown Stockholm Concrete Jungle is his first show created here!
Arvi Yrjölä is a finnish dance acrobat educated at Codarts who for the last years have been touring on large stages with companies such as Panama Pictures, Dance Theatre Huurjaruth and Scapino Ballet. He is now stepping into the world of making his own work, in a Race Horse company mentorship program.
Kevin Franzen is an internationally renowned parkour artist from Malmö and recent silver medalist at the latest parkour world championship. His unique style has led him to travel the world teaching workshops in creative movement while still competing and uploading community-acclaimed videos online. Concrete Jungle is his largest step so far into the world of performing arts!
