Words Matter Journaling Workshop: During this three-day workshop we’ll explore how words matter to us personally, in relationship with others, and in society. Each session will begin with a mindfulness practice. The majority of our time will center on writing and sharing what we’d like from our entries. We’ll discuss connections, insights, and other ways that the entries spark ideas for us. We will end with a mindfulness practice to put closure on our activity.

The workshop is led by Kate Remlinger, a linguist whose research and publications focus on words and how they matter in shaping identity and a sense of belonging. She has taught writing for over 35 years to middle-schoolers, university students, and adults. For the past 12 years she has integrated mindfulness practices into her daily routine, teaching, and workshops.
