Word Vomit
About this Event
Word Vomit
What happens when you stop overthinking and start writing? Word Vomit is a collaborative songwriting workshop designed to help songwriters move past perfectionism and create from a place of honesty. Whether you're an experienced songwriter, a beginner, or simply someone looking to reconnect with their creativity, this space is for you.
The evening begins with a 10-minute "Word Vomit" session, an unfiltered journaling exercise where you'll write continuously without editing, judging, or overthinking. The goal is to get your thoughts onto the page and uncover ideas, emotions, and stories that can become the foundation of a great song.
From there, you'll be paired with another songwriter. Together, you'll help each other transform those raw thoughts into a verse and chorus, turning journal entries into songs. We'll provide instrumental tracks and beats for inspiration, and participants are welcome to write to those or bring their own tracks if preferred.
At the end of the workshop, everyone will have the opportunity to share what they created with the group in a supportive and safe space. There's no right way to share. Participants can read the lyrics aloud or perform their new songs.
The songs that connect with people most are often the ones rooted in truth. Word Vomit is designed to help you tap into that honesty, collaborate with other creatives, and leave with something meaningful that you created together.
