Beat the Sunday Scaries in the unique woodland of Poole Farm with this relaxing workshop. This session will include a short talk on the history and practice of Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku), including the science behind why spending time with trees is beneficial. We will then explore with hand lenses to see nature up close. Participants will be invited to join in a creative exercise to help us tune into the sounds of the woodland before an optional guided visualization exercise and silent Forest Bathing experience.
*Those who attended my June workshop are welcome to join this session, but should be aware that the activities will be the same - new workshops coming soon! *
Where? Poole Farm is a community farm in the heart of Plymouth, Devon. This workshop will be held in a unique woodland with plenty of seating available right in the heart of the Plymouth Beaver Project habitat. Poole Farm is easily accessible by car or bus. The area is generally flat, but some areas are uneven or slippery underfoot. If you have any concerns about accessibility, please contact Sidney at [email protected] before booking. A compost toilet will be available.
Who? This workshop will be run by certified Forest Bathing Guide and nature enthusiast, Sidney and is suitable for all adults seeking connection with nature and a unique opportunity to wind down at the end of the week. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
What to bring? Hand lenses and basic art materials will be provided. Everyone is welcome to bring drinks and snacks to enjoy throughout the session (there is no drinking water available on site). There is seating available (wooden benches) but it is recommended that you bring a picnic blanket to enable sitting or lying down in the woodland.
Limited spaces available and booking essential.
