"Unplug, Rewild, Restore." A one-day woodland wellbeing retreat centred around cold water, warm steam, woodcraft, and deep nature connection.
Experience the invigorating contrast of cold water immersion and the healing heat of a wood-fired sauna in a peaceful woodland setting. This retreat is a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the natural world through the ancient elements of water, fire, wood, and earth.
Alongside sauna rituals, you’ll take part in a guided foraging walk to gather edible plants and natural materials, and then engage in mindful woodcraft, creating traditional sauna whisks, known as vihta.
Step away from the noise and into the quiet beauty of the woods with this nourishing one-day retreat designed to reconnect you with nature, your senses, and a slower rhythm of life. This day is designed to restore balance to body and mind through meaningful connection, quiet reflection, and sensory immersion in the woods.
This retreat is hosted in partnership with our friends at Sauna Cwtch, creators of beautiful, wood-fired mobile saunas, bringing the perfect blend of warmth and wilderness and marrying the elements of wood and water in one unforgettable experience.
YOUR RETREAT INCLUDES:
* Welcome circle with wild herbal brews made from forest-foraged ingredients
* Guided foraging walk to gather edible plants and natural materials
* Crafting traditional sauna whisks (vihta) using hand tools and natural cordage
* Cold water immersion in a freshwater lake
* Wood-fired woodland sauna session with guided whisk ritual
* Shared vegetarian campfire lunch made with seasonal and foraged ingredients

* Forest bathing (Shinrin Yoku) with guided sensory prompts
* Live forest sound experience using a PlantWave device that turns tree signals into music
* Rest in tree hammocks beneath the forest canopy
* Creative woodcraft session using natural materials like feathers, shells, and greenwood
ABOUT YOUR GUIDES:
Lea is a qualified Counsellor and Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting practitioner. She is a firm believer in the power of nature to be therapeutic for everyone. Lea is an active forager, passionate about how we can use common plants for both food and medicine. She enjoys making her own tinctures and medicinal remedies for treating common ailments.
James is the Head Bushcraft Instructor at Woodland Classroom, having worked in environmental education & conservation for over 10 years. James’ approach to teaching steers his students toward fostering a deeper connection with nature through understanding the landscape around us; “Bushcraft skills are an effective way to do this as we learn how to make use of natural materials and live lightly with the land, whilst also connecting with our own ancient past by seeing the land through the eyes of our ancestors.”
