Celebrate Silent Movie Day and the 100th anniversary of one of the greatest achievements in motion picture history with Buster Keaton's THE GENERAL, presented in a gorgeous 4K restoration with live accompaniment on the Lucas Theatre's historic Mighty Wurlitzer by acclaimed organist Ken Double. Inspired by the true Civil War-era Great Locomotive Chase that began in Northwest Georgia, this breathtaking blend of comedy, romance, and action showcases Keaton at the height of his astonishing physical and cinematic genius. Featuring silent cinema's most expensive single shot, it remains as thrilling and inventive today as a century ago. Orson Welles famously called it "perhaps the greatest film ever made," and once you've experienced it on the big screen with live organ accompaniment, it's easy to understand why.
Tickets for the event are free for SCAD Card holders; $10 for students, military, and seniors; and $15 for the general public.
