Get ready for an tenkara-tastic gathering amongst women who love tenkara fishing. Whether you're tenkara-curious, a beginner or a pro, this event is all about sharing skills, stories, and good vibes. Meet some interesting people from around the tenkara-verse, learn new techniques, and have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Don’t miss out on this unique chance to connect with other lady anglers acros the country and have an un-reel experience in Southern Appalachia!

Come chill at a local, women owned fly shop and tap room amongst some local tenkara anglers who are passionate about the sport and the nature of Western NC.

Lessons to be taught by Callie Freeman, Rob Worthing, Amanda Hoffner, Ben Colonesse , and others.
Topics will be entomology, reading water, tenkara basics, and other tenkara skills that will benefit the angler for their next time out on the water.

Stream-Side Education

Hosted by Hendersonville Outfitters
Join Amanda Hoffner, David Bergman of Hendersonville Outfitters, Rob Worthing and others as we go stream-side and give hands on lessons as to where tenkara shines. The two main streams that will be fished and demo-ed on are a true Southern Appalachian experience.

Info: Headwaters is a women owned fly shop that has welcomed tenkara anglers in the past. Come hang out and socialize with other tenkara anglers from around Western NC! There will be a food truck with local goodies and there is a tap house on site with a fun atmosphere.

Classroom Education

Info: Callie, Robert, and Amanda will lead some education based around catching fish with a tenkara rod, entomology, reading water, and other tenkara skills needed to bring success on the water. No need to bring your own tenkara equipment as there will be plenty to try out. Locations and time is subject to change.

Private Water On-Stream Education
Host: Hendersonville Outfitters
Info: Hendersonville Outfitters will be hosting our on-stream education at Tuxedo Falls which is on hour away from the group campground. We will meet in the parking lot and make our way down to the stream to discuss tenkara tactics on a classic Southern Appalachian creek. Start time and end are subject to change.
