This powerful documentary tells the story of Dorothy Foreman Cotton, a bold civil rights leader who played a critical yet often overlooked role in the Civil Rights Movement.

As the only woman on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s executive staff, Dorothy Cotton led the Southern Christian Leadership Conference’s Citizenship Education Program, empowering thousands of Black Americans to understand and exercise their civil rights. Through freedom songs, leadership training, and grassroots education, she helped transform communities and inspired generations of activists.

This film highlights Dorothy Cotton’s extraordinary legacy and explores the vital role women played in shaping the Civil Rights Movement.
