Join us for an extended women’s circle & mini day retreat workshop at Moss and Moonlight's Sanctuary for Healing Arts, gently exploring the healing power of touch within a sacred container of likeminded women.
In today’s touch-starved world, many suffer from stress and isolation due to reduced physical contact. Studies show that consensual touch, like hugging or hand-holding, releases oxytocin, lowering cortisol levels and reducing anxiety. Platonic touch also supports mental health by increasing feelings of belonging and reducing loneliness, activating brain regions that foster compassion and positive emotions. Physically, touch can lower blood pressure, boost immune function, and even reduce pain, promoting overall well-being.
Platonic touch is a physical exchange that can be affectionate or supportive. It allows us to express care and connection without romantic or sexual implications. Each individual defines their own boundaries and consent. Platonic touch in friendships nurtures emotional bonds, provides comfort, and strengthens sisterhood. In a society where touch is often withheld, reclaiming touch as a healing and empowering experience helps women reconnect with their bodies in safe, supportive ways. It helps break down feelings of isolation, fostering deep connections where women feel seen, valued, and loved in a community of trust.
