Description: A peer-based support group/mutual aid meeting tailored specifically for women who use(d) alcohol and other substances. This group will focus on building strong support systems and be an open discussion forum to provide mutual support for any quality-of-life concerns.
Objective: To provide supportive, empowering, secular, and life-affirming principles that address the unique needs and challenges of women in Exeter, NH, and surrounding communities.
This group is a great opportunity for resource sharing and for women involved to build recovery capital. By having this group outside of work hours women who work 9 to 5, single parents, etc. who otherwise wouldn't be able to attend a mutual aid meeting due to whatever barriers they may be facing will now be able to receive support. This group will help to strengthen individual participants' recovery and support systems as well as strengthen our recovery community in Exeter.
