Women's New Moon Somatic Release Dance Party
About this Event
Join Rayven at MoonRoot for a gently guided evening of education, symbolic release, free-form movement, grounding, and new-moon intention for women.
This is not a choreographed dance class, and there is nothing to perform or prove. The experience is inspired by somatic dance and body-based practices that invite you to notice how your body feels from within and explore movement in your own way.
The evening begins with a short educational circle where Rayven will introduce somatic movement, explain how stress and emotion can show up physically, and share why movement can sometimes express what words cannot.
You will then receive a bay leaf and be invited to privately write one thing you are ready to release. No one will be asked to share what they wrote. The leaves will be placed into a cauldron as a symbolic act of letting go before the group transitions into movement.
Rayven will guide the movement portion through music and occasional prompts such as noticing where you are holding tension, allowing your breath to guide you, or exploring what it might feel like to soften, expand, shake, stretch, sway, or become still.
There are no required movements. You may dance, walk, stretch, sway, sit, rest, journal, or simply observe. Everything offered during the evening is an invitation, and you are always free to pause or modify your participation.
The gathering concludes with grounding, quiet reflection, and the opportunity to choose a word or quality you would like to welcome into the new moon cycle. You will then receive or select an intention bracelet or keepsake to carry as a physical reminder of what you are welcoming forward.
