About this Event

Women's Leadership Salon

Thursday, November 19th from 3–5pm

NEW LOCATION: Coastal Credit Union, 1000 Saint Albans Dr., Raleigh, NC

Optional Community Dinner afterwards from 5pm+

We’re elevating and reimagining women’s leadership in beloved community!

The Women’s Leadership Salons are recurring intercultural, intergenerational gatherings for women and nonbinary people who are exploring, affirming, and reimagining our leadership.

These salons offer a space to pause outside of the urgency, isolation, and performance demands of everyday work and life. Together, we examine the leadership models we have inherited and the values, intersectional identities, relationships, and visions we want to lead from instead.

As a Salon participant, you will be invited to bring a question or challenge you’re facing that is focused on a monthly theme. Through guided reflection and exchange, facilitated discussions in small and large groups, structured peer advisory conversations, and meaning making, we create a space to learn from each other’s lived experience and individual and collective wisdom.

This is a space for people who are ready to ask questions such as:

  • Which beliefs about power, worth, belonging, and leadership am I ready to question?
  • What has shaped the way I lead in my work and life?
  • Where am I being called to lead with more vulnerability, honesty, courage, care, creativity, or accountability to myself, and to others?
  • What resources and community support do I need to put my reimagined leadership models into practice and become the leader I envision myself becoming?
  • How can I best affirm and elevate my own and other women’s leadership?

The salons are not traditional networking events, lectures, or professional-development workshops.

They are facilitated community spaces for reflection, connection, peer learning, collective leadership reimagining, and action planning.

What to Expect

While the theme and exact format will vary, our Salons may include:

  • An arrival and grounding practice
  • Individual reflection, journaling, or creative inquiry and informal sharing in pairs
  • Facilitated dialogue on the theme
  • An opportunity to name a current leadership challenge and engage in peer-advisory conversations in small groups
  • Story-sharing, collective meaning-making, and resource exchange
  • Closing practices that help participants form intentions and carry insight into their work, lives, and communities

Participants are invited to engage at the level that feels right for them. You may come with a fully-formed leadership challenge, an emerging question, a season of transition, a desire for community, or simply curiosity about what becomes possible in a room of people committed to transformational leadership.

Who This Is For

This gathering welcomes women and gender nonbinary people across identities, generations, cultures, sectors, and leadership experiences.

You may be a leader in an organization, entrepreneur, student, artist, educator, caregiver, organizer, writer, healer, or someone who is still deciding how you want to show up as a leader. Everyone is a leader at their own level and in their own way.

We especially welcome those whose leadership has been minimized, misunderstood, undervalued, tokenized, or constrained by dominant cultural biases and ideas about who gets to lead and how leadership is supposed to look.

You belong here if you are seeking a leadership practice that is more:

  • Grounded in your values and lived experience
  • Attuned to relationships, culture, and community
  • Honest about power, identity, and systems
  • Creative, courageous, and accountable
  • Connected to collective care and shared liberation
  • Aligned with the future you want to help build

Your Hosts
