Join the American Association of University Women and the Watsonville Friends of the Library for a special public event and panel discussion, entitled, “Women’s Leadership, Advancing Equity for Women and Girls” on Saturday, September 6 from 1-3pm at the Main Library. In the face of growing challenges to self-determination in reproductive health, increasing pressures of work-life imbalance, legislative attacks on gender equity in sports, new forms of discrimination impacting women under the guise of DEI, continued threats of violence and sex trafficking, anti-immigration policies, and the erosion of civil and constitutional rights—we recognize the need for urgent local and state-level action.
This afternoon panel and discussion will offer practical strategies for how community members can engage to protect the rights, safety, and well-being of women and girls. Together, we’ll begin to build a collective vision rooted in inspiration, resistance, and resilience.
