Every March Women's History Month raises awareness of the contributions women have made to events through history and society. For the third year running we have partnered with Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid. Celebrate Women’s History Month with a special evening of enlightening talks shining a light on the extraordinary life of Dame Elizabeth Cadbury and celebrating 125 years of Bournville Village Trust.
Speakers:
Rachel West will explore how Bournville and the garden cities movement benefitted people, improving their standard of living and building communities.
In this talk researched by Josie Wall and Jo Adams, Dr. Josie Wall will explore the role and expectations of women in late Victorian society, setting the scene of the environment Elizabeth Cadbury grew up in.
Caroline Cadbury, Chair of Bournville Village Trust and great-grand daughter of Elizabeth Cadbury, will share personal stories and insights into Elizabeth and Bournville.
India Wilson, Bournville Heritage Officer, will share key moments from Elizabeth's life.
Booking is essential and whilst the event is free, we ask for a small donation which will go to Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid, a charity that supports women and children affected by domestic violence and abuse.
