About this Event

“Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future”

Overview:

At this critical moment in history, we are confronting a convergence of national challenges, economic instability, inequitable access to healthcare, growing threats to equitable opportunities and climate change. These challenges are deeply interconnected, and their impacts are most often felt by women, particularly those from marginalized communities. Yet women are not only on the front lines of these crises—they are leading the way toward enduring solutions.

The national theme for Women’s History Month, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future” broadens the definition of sustainability beyond environmental stewardship alone. It embraces financial stability, community resilience, leadership development, and intergenerational equity. From advancing green innovation, homeownership opportunities and economic justice to strengthening education systems and building civic power, women are creating bold pathways toward systemic change. This theme affirms that a truly sustainable future depends on systems that uplift both people and the planet.

Goals & Objectives

  • Honor: Recognize and celebrate the diverse contributions of women leading sustainability efforts across environmental, economic, educational, healthcare, environmental and social justice movements.
  • Educate: Increase awareness of the vital historical and contemporary roles women play in driving sustainable change and leading in non-traditional industries
  • Inspire: Empower individuals and institutions to take meaningful action toward sustainability, equity, and justice within their own spheres of influence.
  • Connect: Foster collaboration, mentorship, and shared learning across generations, regions, and disciplines.
  • Envision: Cultivate a long-term vision of a future in which women’s leadership is essential to thriving communities and a healthy planet.
  • Advance: Promote ongoing dialogue to prioritize Health, Wellness workplace and career boundaries.
