A space where women gather to learn, organize, and imagine the future we're ready to build together.
About this Event

Women's March, in partnership with 22nd Century Initiative and Project South, will convene hundreds of women from all 50 states for a national train-the-trainers summit, launching a bottom-up effort to rebuild democracy led by everyday women.

The convening marks the beginning of the Women's March National Leadership Cohort, a yearlong organizing program spanning 2026–2027. Participants will leave Houston with the skills, tools, and relationships to return home, build local teams, and lead Feminist Assemblies in their communities. Those assemblies will identify local priorities and shape a coordinated national agenda.

Alongside the 175-member Leadership Cohort, the convening will offer a public track of workshops on anti-authoritarianism, community safety, election defense, and organizing. These sessions will be open to local organizers, activists, and feminists through ticketed registration.

Why Houston?

Fifty years ago, in 1977, thousands of women gathered in Houston for the first National Women's Conference, the largest gathering of its kind in U.S. history. They built the blueprint for the fights we're still waging today: reproductive freedom, equal pay, an end to violence against women, full civil rights for every one of us.

2027 marks 50 years since that conference. We're not picking Houston at random. We're coming home, back to the city where this movement proved what's possible when we organize at scale.

Houston still matters for every reason it did in 1977, maybe more. Texas has some of the most extreme abortion bans in the country. Voting rights are under constant attack here. Immigrant families are living in fear of raids. This is the front line. While other parts of the country debate what's at stake, Texas women are already living it.

We don't organize from the sidelines. We take the fight to where it's hardest, and right now, that's the South. Texas women, Southern women, have been holding this line for years, often without the spotlight, without the resources, without the rest of the movement standing beside them. That ends here. Southern women are not an afterthought in this fight — they are the center of it. Women's March shows up where the stakes are highest, and we stand together.

Fifty years ago, women showed up in Houston and changed what was possible. We're showing up again, on the front line, with the women who never left it, to finish what they started.

Who will be there?

Hundreds of women who reflect the future of this country across race, place, age, class, and sexual orientation.

Everyday women stepping into leadership as the founding feminists of what comes next.

An additional 100+ everyday people (public) who will train and skill up around anti-authoritarianism and community safety + election defense.
