Women's Brain Health Day 2026
About this Event
Women's Brain Health Day 2026
Presented by RBC Wealth Management
Join Women's Brain Health Initiative on December 2 for a program confronting one of the most urgent, underrecognized issues in women's health: the gender gap in Alzheimer's disease, caregiving, and brain health.
Nearly 70% of Alzheimer's cases occur in women, and conditions like migraine follow the same pattern, disproportionately affecting women yet remaining chronically underfunded and misunderstood. Dementia risk builds silently over decades, often starting 20 to 30 years before symptoms appear, yet up to 45% of cases may be preventable through lifestyle change. Women's Brain Health Day is where research, prevention, and lived experience meet to change that trajectory.
This year's program features Emmy-winning actress Marg Helgenberger in conversation about the heart and toll of caregiving, alongside Dr. Jennifer Rabin, PhD, C. Psych, of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, whose research is closing the gap in understanding women's Alzheimer's risk. Emceed by Pattie Lovett-Reid, with a caregiving discussion moderated by Liv Mendelsohn, Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence.
Guests will leave with practical, evidence-based strategies to protect their own brain health, and a clearer picture of why this issue matters for individuals, families, and the economy alike. Funds raised will support research into conditions that disproportionately affect women's brains, including migraine, and expand resources for the caregivers who hold families together.
We hope you'll stand with us.
