✴️✨ Women's boxing rules and regulations ✍🏽were officially adopted on June 23, 1978, on behalf of Dr. William Paula
✴️✨Title 9 was adopted into Law ✍🏽on behalf of Dr. William Paul on June 23, 1972, to declare women's rights in sports.

IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT:
Close your eyes and imagine it's 1975. A young woman walks up to a boxing champion in a gym and asks a simple question: "Can I learn to box?"

In an era when the answer was almost always "no," that champion ... a strong, kind-hearted Black man named Dr. William "Bill" Paul, looked at her courage and simply said, "Okay, come on out."

The next day, SEVERAL women showed up.

Dr. Paul didn't just open the gym doors that day; he opened the door for history. He sat down with a pen and paper and wrote the very first rules for women's boxing—rules that are still used today from London to Tokyo, from Afghanistan to the Olympic Games .

He stood shoulder to shoulder with Muhammad Ali, who chanted for his women to be put on the card. He designed the gear to keep female athletes safe. For decades, he fought the fights that happened outside the ring so that women could finally step inside it.

Because of Bill Paul, women's boxing is no longer a question. It is a global force.

Now, it is our turn to say "thank you."
