Women Under Fire
About this Event
Join us for our workshop "Women Under Fire," organised by People Before Profit, through the Women and Gender Equality caucus.
Amidst the rise of the manosphere, misogyny, and toxic online behaviour, it is now more important than ever that we come together and organise, to fight back against these issues, targeting their systemic roots, as well as the capitalist system that perpetuates them.
This workshop will explore themes of online abuse the harassment of women and girls, as well as their intersections with class, race, and gender identity.
Our discussion panel will feature a range of powerful women from varied backgrounds, speaking about their experiences in political and activist spaces, with audience participation encouraged and welcomed.
The workshop will be led by our convenors and artists, putting together posters, placards, and art pieces representing abuse that we have seen, heard, and experienced in these spaces, guided by political analysis and understanding of the roots of this abuse.
Our aim is to produce a powerful, visual stunt to represent the harassment and violence that we face every day, simply by being present as activists in these spaces.
