As our nation gears up to commemorate its 250th anniversary, Pattye Benson of Malvern will present a fascinating look at local history with the Women on the Hill on Monday, October 6, at 7 PM in the parish hall of the Historic Church. With two decades of experience as the president of the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust, Pattye will showcase a slideshow detailing the rebuilding of the unique 18th-century English-style Jones Log Barn in Chesterbrook, which has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind barn museum, the Living History Center. In addition to her role with the preservation trust, Pattye resides in a historic stone farmhouse that dates to 1690, making it one of the oldest structures in the nation. Her deep commitment to historic preservation and her extensive knowledge of local heritage promise to make this presentation both informative and engaging for all attendees.
All are welcome, including folks who don't identify as women – bring a friend! Light refreshments will be served.
Additionally, the Jones Log Barn Living History Center, located at 297 Adams Drive in Chesterbrook, will be open for personal tours on Sunday, October 12, from 1 to 3 PM. Pattye and fellow board members of the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust warmly invite you to explore this fascinating site and learn more about its history.
