About this Event
In celebration of National Women’s Month in the Philippines and as part of its mandate to promote Gender and Development within the Filipino American Community, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco is organizing “Women in Law: A Forum with Pathbreaking Filipina American Lawyers and Justices.”
In line with a series of talks that has turned a spotlight on Filipinas in various sectors of American society (“Women in Tech” webinar in 2021, “Women in Health” webinar in 2022, “Women in Government” forum in 2023, and “Women and Philippine Culture” forum in 2024), the Consulate is hosting a forum that explores the contributions of Filipino American women in the practice of law in the United States. Through the forum, the invited speakers will be able to share their stories and experiences as immigrants and legal practitioners, their views on local and national issues, and their thoughts about the influence of their Filipino ancestry and heritage in their role as lawyers, justices and advocates.
Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer will deliver his welcome remarks during the event, while Deputy Consul General Atty. Maria Paz Cortes will give her closing speech.
Stay tuned for updates, including the list of resource speakers!
