28. augustā džeza klubā MASA izskanēs koncertprogramma “Women in Jazz”. Jau kopš džeza pirmsākumiem sievietes-vokālistes ir bijušas nozīmīga šī žanra daļa. Viņu balsis, interpretācijas un mākslinieciskā individualitāte ir veidojusi džeza skanējumu un iedvesmojusi vairākas mūziķu paaudzes. Programma “Women in Jazz” ir veltījums izcilām džeza dziedātājām, kuru daiļrade atstājusi paliekošu nospiedumu mūzikas vēsturē.
Projekts aizsākts 2025. gadā un jau izskanējis vairākās koncertvietās Latvijā. Programma iepazīstina ar dažādu laikmetu māksliniecēm, kuru radošais devums būtiski ietekmējis džeza attīstību un turpina iedvesmot klausītājus visā pasaulē.
Koncertā skanēs mūzika no tādu mākslinieču repertuāra kā Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Astrud Gilberto, Nancy Wilson, Diana Reeves, Norah Jones un citu džeza leģendu daiļrades.

On August 28, MASA jazz club will host the concert program “Women in Jazz”. Since the beginning of jazz, female vocalists have been an important part of this genre. Their voices, interpretations and artistic individuality have shaped the sound of jazz and inspired several generations of musicians. The program “Women in Jazz” is a tribute to outstanding female jazz singers whose work has left a lasting mark on the history of music.
The project was launched in 2025 and has already been performed at several concert venues in Latvia. The program introduces female artists from different eras whose creative contributions have significantly influenced the development of jazz and continue to inspire listeners around the world.
The concert will feature music from the repertoire of artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Astrud Gilberto, Nancy Wilson, Diana Reeves, Norah Jones and other jazz legends.
