� Welcome to Women Explore Fire Day in Minnesota! �We’re so excited to launch this space and begin the journey toward our event on May 2, 2026 — a day dedicated to women exploring what it’s like to be in the fire service. Join us for a hands-on opportunity to explore volunteer, paid-on-call, and/or full-time firefighting near you.
Why this matters:
Fewer than 10% of firefighters nationwide are women. We’re working to change that by creating hands-on opportunities and the chance to experience the fire world up close. Fire departments across the state are short-staffed, and more people are needed to step up and serve.
What to expect on event day:
� Try on real fire gear
� Experience hose handling, medical & fireground basics
� Meet inspiring women and men in the fire service
� Build confidence in a supportive, team-centered environment
