A free family friendly program featuring a vocal ensemble of local women, directed by Laurisa LeSure, and African drum ensemble led by Jacquee Dickey of Drumananda.
Saturday, March 15, 6:00 p.m.
An interactive musical journey lifting up humanity through women in song, movement, and African drumming. The patterns of African rhythms began with women, and depict archetypal human stories that mark life cycles such as remembrance, suffering, celebration and liberation. The call of the drums reminds us we all derive from a common source: the Motherland of Africa where lies the remains of the first human skeleton. The sound of singing, reminds us there is power in using our voice to speak words that bring hope and resilience. The power of community reminds us that when we gather together from all corners, creeds, ages, races and genders, we can break down the walls that separate and divide us.
Come help create what is possible when we come together!
