This year’s retreat for women and nonbinary people is happening at church on September 19th and 20th, and offers a time in community to acknowledge transitions and endings in our lives, practice rest and deepen practices of resilience, and explore new beginnings.
Transitions happen all the time, for example: graduations, job changes, retirement, having kids, aging, illnesses, a death, a new political environment, an accident, new ventures, etc. Whether sudden or gradual, these moments are filled with uncertainty and anxiety, and they are also the richest, most fertile and spiritually stimulating time of a person or group's life. During transitions, we are more likely to be honest about our gifts, to rest and reflect, and build resilience while deepening our faith.
We’ll gather on Friday from 5:00–9:00pm for a casual evening that will include conversation, community, and a guided meditation focused on utilizing the restorative power of your vagus nerve.
On Saturday we’ll reconvene from 9:00am–5:00pm for a day of learning, ritual, sharing (in small groups and large), interaction, and even some soul collaging (a fun and easy art form of cutting and pasting to discover meaning).
The price of admission covers all activities and includes a delicious lunch catered by Chef Patrick. Childcare will be provided by the church.
You’re welcome to invite friends who aren’t part of our church community (yet!). Please bring one magazine to share for collaging, a pen or pencil, and a journal if you use one.
