About this Event
Women and Girls in Science: Indigenous Medicine is Science
Join The Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated Local 1, Local 12, Local 26 in person for an inspiring event celebrating the amazing contributions of women and girls in science! Dive into the fascinating world of Indigenous Medicine and discover how traditional knowledge is a vital part of scientific discovery. It’s a perfect opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired by stories that break the mold. Don’t miss out on this unique experience! This side event to the Women and Girls in Science at the United Nations explores the false narrative that indigenous medicine and plant medicine is not scientific. The Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated was founded in New York City in 1937 and has always focused on trade with Africa and raising awareness about Ancient Ethiopian Culture. Our plant medicine scientists from various backgrounds believe that you should treat your food as your own personal "Farmacy". By ignoring the contributions of global indigenous plant medicine scientists, years of discrimination against natural pathways to health and wellness continue. The event is February 11th from 4:30- 8pm, Address: CUNY 55 West 125th Street, NY, NY (Harlem). RSVP by emailing [email protected] or on Eventbrite. FREE EVENT with Raffle Opportunity
