We invite you to attend a women's history program presented by Amy D. Miller, Visitor Services Manager at the McAllister House Museum. The lecture will be held in the McAllister Carriage House.

Join us in exploring the fascinating life and endeavors of Martha Maxwell (1831-1881). Maxwell was a naturalist, taxidermist, and museum curator, whose work was internationally acclaimed at the Centennial Philadelphia Exposition in 1876. We will examine her unusual "Woman's Work" through the writings of Mary Dartt, Helen Hunt Jackson, along with contributions to the Smithsonian Institute and museums founded by Martha Maxwell in Boulder and Denver, Colorado.
