11th to 16th May 2026
Start to plan your attendance now – a big occasion for our club,
and one we want to celebrate well.
The Christchurch Branch will host this event, with accommodation and activities to be based in
Christchurch.
Special Note: There will be a $150 subsidy for the inter-island ferry crossings for North Island members
travelling with their Wolseleys to the Rally.
Proposed Rally Programme:
Monday 11th May – arrive in Christchurch. An informal welcome function will be held in the evening from
7.00pm to welcome visitors to Christchurch and the event in ‘The Barn’ at the Vintage Car Club, McLeans
Island Road. BYO drinks – light supper provided.
Tuesday 12th May – morning available to rest from your trip, or if you’re feeling energetic, a visit to the Air
Force Museum at Wigram. Then meeting at 12.00pm at Idlewood, McLeans Island Road to visit the
Christchurch Branch Clubrooms and Spares Shed where we’ll have light lunch. In the afternoon we’ll have a
couple of interesting collections to visit around the area (afternoon tea provided), and then Dinner that
night (optional) at the Redwood Hotel, Main North Road.
Wednesday 13th May – drive to Ashburton to visit the Aviation Museum there, with lunch at the VCC
museum and clubrooms, then in the afternoon a visit the Plains Museum, just down the road from the
VCC. Dinner that evening (optional) at the Hornby Working Men’s Club, SH1, Hornby, Christchurch.
Thursday 14th May – drive to Akaroa and enjoy the attractions there, including an optional cruise on
Akaroa Harbour to see the local wildlife. Dinner that evening (also optional) at the Papanui Club, Sawyers
Arms Road (not far from the airport).
Friday 15th May – free day to explore and enjoy Christchurch and its many new post-earthquake venues
and attractions. Fish’n’chip tea on Friday evening, hopefully at the venue in Linwood where the inaugural
meeting of the club was held in 1976.

Sunday 17th May – farewell breakfast, location to be advised.
If you cannot attend in your Wolseley you are welcome to bring your modern car – the Rally is as much
about our members as it is about the marque. We want to celebrate this occasion well, so we hope you
can come and enjoy it with us.
Once we receive your registration, we will send you a form to complete advising us what options you want
in the way of outings and meals, so we can arrange final bookings. Evening meals on Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday night are optional, and if you attend you will need to pay as you go at the venues advised.
Please note that registrations will close on 20th March, and in early April we will send you an invoice
advising final costs for the options you have chosen and for the fixed costs. We advise that you should
budget approximately $350 per person if you want to attend all meals (including optional ones) and
attractions as advised above.
Accommodation
You will need to book your own accommodation, however as most of the activities are close to the North-
west side of Christchurch, we recommend you book your stay somewhere on that side of Christchurch.
We recommend you first try the following:
Redwood Hotel, 340 Main North Road Christchurch, Phone 0800 666 716, or website
http://www.theredwood.co.nz/ They have a range of accommodation options, their prices are extremely
competitive, and the complex was full renovated a few years ago.
Tasman Holiday Park (formerly Meadow Park), 39 Meadow Street, Papanui. Phone 03 352 9176, or website
https://tasmanholidayparks.com Full range of accomdation options from caravan or motorhome sites
