At the turn of the century, the main form of entertainment was authors, historians & scientists giving talks about their books & research at theatres, societies, clubs and concert halls. These events were given the title of Salons.
When I lived at Crown Hill, I held salons within my home's welcoming space. They were gatherings focused on topics specific to woman and WNY and drew groups of 40 or more (Crown Hill was sizable!)
Now on June 19th I will be joining with some of WNY's top authors for a Salon & Soiree---a blend of Victorian Style Entertainment with a 21st Century twist.
Authors will be giving presentations about their books and meeting with attendees for conversations/discussions about writing. There will also be opportunities to purchase their books.
