Started in 1955, and now with 36 members, Witney Rotary Club makes an important contribution to many aspects of life in Witney and elsewhere, including:

Witney Carnival - With other local organisations, we organise the Carnival and Procession every July.

Switch On of Christmas Lights - In November, the switch on celebration for the Christmas Lights in the Market Square.

Interact Club - Junior Rotary based a Woodgreen School. Interact members raise about £4,000 for their chosen charities.

'Kids Out' - A day each year, when a group of pupils with special needs, and their carers, spend a day at Cotswold Wildlife Park.

Social gatherings for older residents - Two events per year: a Summer Cream Tea and a Twixt Party between Christmas and New Year.

Firewalks - Arrange Firewalks in various locations to allowintrepid firewalkers to raise funds for their favourite charities.

Wrap Up - In the autumn, we collect winter coats for those in need.

Pudsey - We arrange for Pudsey to visit schools and residential homes.

Polio Eradication - A major 30 year programme financed by Rotary Clubs worldwide for the past 30 years, now with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Shelterbox - Emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for people affected by disasters.

Eye hospital in India - With Global Site Solutions, our Club generated the £90,000 needed for a new eye hospital in India.

Alan's Africa - Support for Alan providing school support for young people in Sierra Leone.

Street collections - Raising funds for people in hardship such as; war, famine or disease.

Food and energy prices continue to rise and an increasing number of households in the UK are struggling to provide clothing for themselves or their growing families, through the ever-changing seasons.

At the same time, almost 400,000 tonnes of used but still wearable clothing ends up in UK landfills every year. At Apollos Clothing we set out to solve both of these problems.

We collect preloved and outgrown clothes, saving them from landfill and provide good quality, clean clothing to those most in need.

An award winning Oxfordshire charity that believes people with learning disabilities and autism deserve to live life to the full!

We offer a variety of services to those with mild to moderate needs including social clubs, activity days, residential holidays and a traineeship. These projects increase confidence and independence in our members as well as provide respite for families and carers.

We tackle the problem that many people with learning disabilities leave school with limited life skills and, as a result, poor life chances.

This often leads to their isolation and marginalisation. Our projects start working with young people, in community settings, from the age of 11 to build their social skills, confidence, independence and ultimately their employability. At the same time we support families and carers with respite.

The same team of staff assist young people on their journey through childhood into adulthood. This allows us, often over many years, to gain both trust and a real insight as to how best to create a person-centered plan to support each individual.
