Ancestor work is not just seasonal, at The Wandering Witch we believe it can and should be an integral part of the witch’s path. To know where we are going, we must first acknowledge where we have come from. Some will say ancestor work is unnecessary, especially when those who came before us were flawed, harmful, or even cruel. But to us, denying those roots is a form of spiritual bypassing and pretending the past has no hold when, in truth, it still shapes our bones and blood.
On this Witchy Wednesday, we gather to honor lineage in all its complexity. You are asked to bring a photo of someone who feels like an ancestor. This may be someone you share blood with, chosen family, a beloved teacher, or even an archetypal guide. If you do not have a printer, you may send a photo to us ahead of time, or let us know if you would like to come by before class to place your offering upon our October ancestor altar.
Together we will build a communal shrine where memory becomes magic, and then we will:

This is not simply an event, it is ritual, spell, and communion. A night to face our lineage with honesty, to call in healing and strength, and to walk hand-in-hand with those who came before us.
