What awaits when fertility and youth escapes us?
In our society the cultural narrative of older women and menopause is a sad one. In spite of that, midlife does not resemble fading away. It is the gateway to a new role.
The Wise Women Rite of Passage is a ceremony that brings together our individual journeys into an empowering collective transition.
Half way through life we get the chance to redefine what we want to give to the world. We transit from being the ones working, searching and struggling - to becoming the ones enjoying, observing and holding space.
This afternoon we give thanks for the life we have lived so far and the lessons it has brought us, and we let go of any attachment to the idea of being young and of having to fit in. In its place we welcome maturity, wisdom, inner leadership, outer leadership, sisterhood and direction. We join the ranks of Wise Women, from this day enjoying and serving from a place of resting in ourselves.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This ritual is created for mature cis-women living in or beyond menopause, ready to transition into this new way of life.

CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?
You absolutely can - no prior knowledge required
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
No partner needed. We work individually and as a group.
DRESSCODE
For this ceremonial occasion wear whatever you feel appropriate and what feels good for you
WHAT TO BRING
A token that symbolises your younger self - a small thing such as a piece of clothing, could be anything.
TIMES
Doors open at 12:30 to allow you to land softly in the space.
The ritual starts at 13:00, be sure to be on time as you cannot enter once we start.
We end at 17:00

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
The Rite of passage will be guided by Sara Skaarup, who is 51 years old and in her everyday life works as a sexologist and a therapist. She will be supported by Jane Mandøe, 55, who is a bodyworker and also a facilitator at House of Play. Read more about Sara at www.saraskaarup.dk
