Understanding the OBBBA Act
Major tax changes are here, and knowing how to navigate them can make a real difference for both your personal finances and your business.
Join Tim Moy, Managing Partner at MBE CPAs, and Diane Payne, Partner at MBE CPAs, for an in-depth yet easy-to-understand breakdown of the OBBBA Act. This seminar will highlight the most important updates, what they mean for you, and how to take advantage of new opportunities created by the legislation.
What you’ll learn:
• Key tax changes impacting individual taxpayers, including lower income tax rates, increased standard deductions, and new deductions for working Americans
• Important updates for business owners, such as the permanent 20% Qualified Business Income (QBI) deduction, changes to bonus depreciation, and new employment-related provisions
• Practical strategies to maximize tax benefits under the new law
• How these changes affect real-world decision-making moving forward
Whether you’re an investor, business owner, or working professional, this session will help you cut through the noise and gain a clear, actionable understanding of the OBBBA Act—so you can plan with confidence and keep more of what you earn.
Speakers: Tim Moy & Diane Payne
Tim Moy, CPA is the Managing Partner of MBE CPAs. In this role, he not only directs the firm but also plays a fundamental part in advising business clients on how to achieve long-term success. Through thoughtful accounting and tax strategies, combined with real-world life experience, Tim helps clients navigate complex decisions. Helping people succeed is at the core of his passion and drives the impact he strives to make with every client relationship.
His personal mission is “to be his clients’ most trusted advisor.” Clients rely on Tim and the MBE professional family for guidance, planning, and execution as they work toward achieving their goals.
At heart, Tim is a serial entrepreneur. Through that experience, he quickly realized that accounting is the language of business. Accounting serves as a form of communication, reflecting both successes and failures and providing a clear way for businesses to keep score. A critical part of that score is taxes. Many entrepreneurs overlook how closely taxes are tied to measuring business success, yet managing them effectively should be a core component of every entrepreneur’s overall strategy.
Diane, EA, CFP is a Partner at MBE CPAs with more than 30 years of experience in tax preparation, planning, and resolution. She holds designations as an IRS Enrolled Agent and Certified Financial Planner. Her work centers on the intersection of tax strategy and wealth management, where she serves high-net-worth families and real estate investors. With dual expertise in tax and financial planning, Diane ensures that every tax decision aligns with a broader financial roadmap, giving clients confidence that their legacy is secure and their returns are optimized.
She is committed to building strong, collaborative relationships and believes education and transparency are essential to helping clients actively participate in the planning process and clearly understand how each decision supports their long-term goals.
As a Partner at MBE CPAs, Diane is also passionate about mentoring professionals and advancing an advisory-driven model for individual tax services.
