Haunting Nights Ghost Hunts, The Ghost Adventures Continue, this time at a spooky location known as “The Castle Of Nightmares”
Haunting Nights are really looking forward to taking you to Wisbech Castle in Cambridgeshire, this new location for 2023 has many ghostly tales with a haunting history dating back to 1072
On an overnight ghost hunt with Haunting Nights we will be investigating not only the Castle but the vaults that lie deep beneath the castle grounds.
The dark and eerie vaults which date back to medieval times are a network of underground passages which have had many uses including being used as a prison
Wisbech Castle was once a state prison, incarcerating Catholics in the reigns of Elizabeth, James I and Charles I and Protestants in that of Queen Mary. Many executions took place here.
It is suggested that the Gunpowder Plot was hatched within the walls of the Castle.
In the 1600s the castle fell into ruin, in the late 1700s the castle was purchased and using the original material was rebuilt. Wisbech castle was owned by the same family for over 100 years.
