About this Event
This is a hybrid event available both in-person and virtually.
Rose City Center proudly presents this four-hour continuing education course which satisfies licensure requirements regarding the use of teleconferencing in psychotherapy.
Ary Ziv, PhD will launch the seminar with his discussion of the challenges human-digital technological interactions present. The psyche, an evolutionary and biologically-based entity, increasingly interacts with digital technologies. Because of the incongruence of these two systems, the psychic development of individuals may be adversely impacted. How might this interaction affect the evolution of the human species in the long term?
Next, Enrico Gnaulati, PhD will shift the focus to how these human-digital interactions specifically affect psychotherapeutic processes. He will tackle questions like, how is in-person different from teleconferencing (or telephonic) psychotherapy? and is psychotherapy conducted by text or by email legal, ethical, and psychotherapeutic?
Alan Karbelnig, PhD, ABPP will moderate the talks, encouraging audience participation after each 45-minute presentation. There will be a Q&A after each presentation.
We will take a 15 minute break at 11am.
After the break, two Rose City Clinicians will present relevant case material to a panel consisting of Drs. Ziv, Gnaulati, Karbelnig and Sam Alibrando, PhD.
During the final hour of the course, participants will be encouraged to share case material and ask questions of the panel members to ensure comprehensive understanding of how technology and psychotherapy interact.
Enjoy a selection of citrus juices, breakfast pastries, fresh fruit, and hot beverage service in the gorgeous foyer and patio of the famous Sofia Ballroom.
Registration begins at 8AM. Please arrive and check-in early as the presentation will begin promptly at 9.
