On December 10, Keziah Park will become a Winter Wonderland with holiday decorations and lighting, carolers, and hot chocolate. The stars of the show: wooden candy canes decorated by citizens, businesses and artists. Show off your Christmas decorating talents by purchasing a blank Candy Cane and turning it into a dazzler for this popular family event sponsored by the Club. Past years’ canes will be shown, as well as new entries for 2024.Four canes created by talented local artists will be auctioned the evening of the party, as will decorated silk wreaths ready for gifts or your own holiday décor. Guests will also be able to purchase festive floral arrangements assembled by Garden Club members.
$50 per Candy Cane.
Wooden bases available for additional $10.
Order and pay online at southportgardenclub.org, pick up will be at Fort Johnston Visitors’ Center.
The Candy Cane Garden will be displayed from Dec. 10th to Dec. 14th, in Keziah Park.
Proceeds benefit Southport Garden Club projects.
Families, Churches, Businesses, Civic Groups, and all are invited to participate in this fundraiser!
Return the decorated candy cane to Keziah Park on Monday, December 9th from 10 AM – 3 PM or Tuesday, December 9th from 10 AM – Noon. When you return the cane, it will be registered for inclusion in the Candy Cane Garden.
Please plan to attend the special evening “Candy Cane Garden Party” on Tuesday, December 10th from 6-8 PM. The event will feature music, refreshments, a visit by Santa and attendees’ judging for best cane. Items for auction have been expanded for this year’s Party: four canes painted by local artists will be auctioned off on site, as will four holiday wreaths fully decorated and ready for holiday display.
Also new this year will be ready-made floral arrangements for sale in three sizes. If you’re in need of hostess gifts, decorations for shut-ins, or want a festive arrangement for yourself, we can help you out!
The Candy Canes will remain displayed in Keziah Park the remainder of the week of Southport’s Winterfest so make them weather-worthy in the event of rain. Your candy cane should be picked up from Keziah Park no later than Saturday, December 14th. Should severe weather be predicted at any time during the week, feel free to pick up your Candy Cane early.
Dates for blank Candy Cane Pickup and In-Person Purchases: Tuesday, November 1st to Monday, December 2nd.
Pickup Address: Fort Johnston Visitors Center, 203 E Bay St, Southport. Open Monday – Saturday (10 am to 4 pm) – bring copy of online order confirmation for cane, or cash or check for in-person purchase.
Dates for decorated Candy Cane Dropoff: Monday, December 9th (10 am – 3 pm) or Tuesday, December 10th (10 am – Noon) or pickup by a committee member (send pickup request via email to [email protected]).
Dropoff Address: Indian Trail Meeting Hall, 113 W Moore St, Southport.
Date for Candy Cane Pickup: Saturday, December 14th. Should severe weather be predicted at any time during the week, feel free to pick up your Candy Cane early.
