During the holiday season, the capitals of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia transform into true winter wonderlands. As dusk falls and the snow glistens beneath your feet, the cities light up with thousands of twinkling lights, creating an atmosphere that enchants both locals and visitors alike. Christmas markets fill the streets with the aromas of mulled wine, spiced pastries, and festive melodies.
We begin our festive journey in Tallinn, where the medieval architecture of the Old Town, adorned with sparkling lights, takes us back to the times of knights and castles. In this fairy-tale setting, we will discover the magic of Estonian Christmas markets, filled with handmade decorations and local delicacies.
Next, we travel to Riga, where Art Nouveau buildings provide a stunning backdrop for the Christmas stalls. The city turns into a winter dream, and the markets tempt with the scents of Latvian specialties and warming drinks. In this enchanting atmosphere, the city’s history comes alive with tales of ancient kings, mysteries, and legends that we’ll uncover during our visit.
Finally, we will visit Vilnius, where carols resound amidst Gothic and Baroque architecture, and Cathedral Square shines with one of the most beautiful Christmas trees in Europe. The markets fill the city with joy and festive warmth, and we’ll have the opportunity not only to experience this magical atmosphere but also to discover the historical secrets of the place.

Day 1 – Arrival in Riga
We will start immersing ourselves in the festive atmosphere immediately upon arrival in Riga, the capital of Latvia. At Doma Square, in the heart of the Old Town, we will visit the traditional Christmas market, filled with local treats and handmade crafts. You can sample mulled wine, gingerbread, and smoked meats, as well as purchase unique gifts like wooden toys, woolen scarves, and hats. The charming Old Town, with its beautiful Art Nouveau architecture, will set the perfect backdrop for this Christmas journey.
Day 2 – Exploring Riga and traveling to Tallinn
Our day begins with a walking tour of Riga, starting in the Art Nouveau district, famous for its stunning facades and intricate architectural details. We will then explore the Old Town, visiting landmarks like the Three Brothers, House of Blackheads, and St. Peter’s Church. The tour will end at the famous Riga Central Market, where we’ll have the chance to taste local specialties. After the tour, we’ll set off for Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. In the evening, we’ll visit the magical Christmas market at the Town Hall Square, surrounded by medieval buildings and offering delicious local foods and crafts.
Day 3 – Tallinn and travel to Vilnius
In Tallinn, we will start the day with a private tour exploring both the modern and historical parts of the city. We will drive through the Kadriorg district, home to a beautiful baroque palace and gardens, and continue to the coastal Pirita area, known for its song festivals, a key part of Estonian national identity. Next, we will stroll through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, visiting landmarks such as Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Toompea Hill, offering stunning views of the city. After free time at the Christmas market, we’ll head to the airport for our evening flight to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
Day 4 – Exploring Vilnius and Trakai Castle
Our final day will be spent discovering Vilnius and its surroundings. We will begin with a walking tour of the Old Town, visiting highlights like the Gate of Dawn, St. Anne’s Church, and Cathedral Square, home to one of Europe’s most beautiful Christmas trees. The tour will also include a visit to the Paneriai Memorial Museum, commemorating tragic events of WWII. In the afternoon, we will venture to Trakai Castle, a picturesque medieval fortress on Lake Galve. Upon returning to Vilnius, there will be time for a final stroll through the cozy Christmas market before heading to the airport for our flight home.
