Join us for a snowshoe excursion and educational session hosted by TINS and the TRTA. Spend the morning hiking amid high-elevation pine forests on Tahoe’s East Shore at Spooner Lake State Park. We will take breaks periodically to learn about Tahoe’s forest ecology while identifying trees and animals that live amongst the Lodgepole Pines. We will go as fast as the slowest member of the group and can make adjustments along the way. Our route will not have steep hills and stays at 7000′ elevation. This hike is great for beginners and is appropriate for ages 12 and up.
You will need to purchase a $10 Day Use Parking Pass to park at Spooner Lake State Park.
What to Expect
TRTA/TINS treks are group treks, and we do our best to keep the group together. All trek leaders dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year, sharing their passion for the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced. Please respect the decisions made on the trail.
