Join us for our seasonal Winter Tree Walk at Woodland Wellbeing HQ. Enjoy a stroll through a hidden local woodland as we explore the semi-ancient winter woodscape. We will look at all the hints trees give us to identify them when leafless - you'll be surprised how many giveaways there are. We'll be sharing fascinating insights about the diverse trees that grow all around the locality (with some surprises!). Discover their unique characteristics, and the important role they play in our ecosystem. This walk will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and learn something new.
A steady walk through a semi-ancient oak woodland and through some secret meadows wonderfully managed by Gleadless Wildlife Trust and Sheffield City Council may also reveal animal tracks, signs and activity.
This is a Pay As You Feel event and a hat will be put out at the end.
Families welcome!
*Accessibility - due to the nature of this woodland, the walk is on sometimes steep and narrow woodland paths. If you would like to come but have concerns about the accessibility then do get in touch and we will be very happy to discuss the route and make changes if we can.
*Welfare - As the walk is in a woodland the only toilet will be of the wild kind.
*Weather - The walk will only be cancelled if there are high winds or extreme weather. If this becomes the case, we will contact you and it will be rescheduled.
*Wear clothing for the weather conditions and good footwear for potentially muddy paths. If you are running late then let us know by text message or email.
*Dogs are welcome if they are safe around children and other dogs.
