1:00-1:30. Set up time. Please have your tables and chairs arrive as close to 1:00pm as possible so we can set up quickly. We also will be filling milk jugs with soil and setting up the seed table for the winter sowing project. The seed table is where you will select which seeds you will like to grow in your milk jugs (This is not a seed swapping table, that will be at another event).
1:30-1:45pm Presentation on how to winter sow. We will be learning both the milk jug method and the ice cube method. Short time of QnA.
1:45-2:30. There will be a table set up with donated seeds for you to select from. You will be able to make between 1-3 milk jugs depending on how much soil and seeds are donated. If we finish early with our winter sowing project we will have a social time.
2:30-3:00pm. Clean up. Take down tables and chairs. Sweep, mop, empty trash, clean bathroom. Pack up any remaining seeds/soil/gardening supplies for a future event.
We are in need of items for this workshop. You can bring items or arrange with me to make a monetary donation and I will purchase the items needed.
Items needed:
Seeds:
Perennial Flowers-lupine, milkweed, calendula, pansies snapdragons, black eyed susan's yarrow, bachelor buttons, marigolds and poppies.
Veggies/fruits. Peppers, Strawberries seeds, Onion seeds, Broccoli, Beets, Brussel Sprouts, Cauliflower, Kale, Lettuce.
Herbs-Salvia, Thyme, Oregano, Cilantro, parsley and catmint.
Good quality gardening soil like Miracle Grow in the yellow bag or Pro-mix in the black and red bag.
We will have a donation jar set up for people to donate for other events as well.
