Honouring the Longest Night & the Return of the Light
As the Wheel of the Year turns, we arrive at one of its most powerful moments — the Winter Solstice. Known also as Yule, this is the longest night and the turning point where darkness begins to give way to light once more. It is a time of stillness, deep reflection, and renewal — a sacred pause in the heart of winter that invites us to release the old and welcome in the new.
Within the candlelit warmth of the cabin, surrounded by nature’s quiet embrace, we will gather in circle to honour this ancient threshold. Together we will rest in the wisdom of the dark, celebrate the return of the light, and share in the community, ritual, and magic that has marked this night for generations.
This gathering is a chance to step away from the busyness of the season, to retreat inward, and to connect with yourself and others in a nurturing space. The evening is both gentle and powerful — a weaving of meditation, ritual, craft, and sound that allows you to reflect, release, and plant seeds of intention for the year ahead.
Your Evening Journey
Grounding Meditation
We begin by settling into stillness with a grounding meditation, allowing you to arrive fully in the space and let go of the outside world. Through breath and gentle guidance, you’ll connect with the deep quiet of winter and open yourself to the lessons of the season.
Solstice Ritual
In sacred circle, we will honour the Solstice with a ritual of release and renewal. You’ll be invited to reflect on the lessons of the year past, let go of what no longer serves, and call in the return of the light with intention and hope. This practice offers both closure and new beginnings, marking the shift in the cycle of the year.
Seasonal Crafting
With simple, natural materials, you’ll create a symbol of hope and renewal to take home — a physical reminder of the Solstice and your intentions. Whether it’s a lantern, charm, or nature-inspired keepsake, this small act of creation helps anchor the energy of the evening into something tangible and lasting.
Sound Healing Journey
Allow yourself to be carried into deep rest with a soothing sound bath. The resonant tones of crystal bowls and sacred instruments ripple through the body, calming the nervous system, easing tension, and restoring balance. The sound journey is an invitation to surrender fully, to rest in the dark, and to let the vibrations awaken your inner light.
Shared Nourishment
We close the evening gathered together in warmth, sharing simple seasonal food: homemade soup, slices of cake, and warm drinks. This final part of the gathering allows time to ground, reflect, and connect with others in the circle before stepping back into the winter’s night.
Why the Winter Solstice Matters
Across cultures and centuries, the Solstice has been marked as a sacred threshold — a time when the sun stands still, and the promise of returning light begins. It is a reminder that even in the darkest times, the spark of renewal is always present.
In today’s world, the Winter Solstice offers us a much-needed pause. While the season around us often speeds up with shopping, stress, and endless to-do lists, the Solstice calls us to slow down, to rest, and to honour the cycles of nature and ourselves. This gathering is a way of stepping into that ancient rhythm once more — of choosing presence, intention, and connection.

The Experience
This is more than just an event — it is a ceremony, a pause, and a gift to yourself. You’ll leave with a deeper sense of connection to the season, a handmade creation to remind you of your intentions, and the gentle nourishment of having rested, reflected, and shared in circle.
Come exactly as you are. Wrap yourself in warm layers, bring your open heart, and allow yourself to retreat into the quiet beauty of Yule.
Spaces are kept intentionally limited to ensure the gathering feels intimate, personal, and deeply held.
Come to honour the longest night, and leave carrying the light of new beginnings.
