About this Event
The winter solstice symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, as the sun reaches her lowest point in the sky, and we celebrate the return of the light and the beginning of winter. Come together in community to bask in the healing balm of the forest, sing up the sun, and engage in mindful reverance of our beloved earth and all her inhabitants.
Participants can expect opportunities to engage in both guided and solitary mindfulness invitations, opportunities for sharing and reflection, optional singing, and a tea ceremony.
Forest bathing, or Shinrin Yoku, is a practice that originated in Japan and has numerous physical and mental health benefits, and is a beautiful way to resource yourself while reconnecting with your true nature, which is nature! Come join FTS certified forest therapist and licensed clinical social worker , Sarah Schroeder-Lebec, for a morning of joyful communion with our beloved earth mother, ourselves and one another. The earth is always holding us!
*this event, while therapeutic in nature, is not therapy.
*participants should be comfortable walking in a forested environment with potential for snow, ice, and uneven ground.
*event is held rain/snow or shine, so dress appropriately and bring your sense of adventure!
