Join the eco-restoration gathering for Winter Solstice weekend at Harlem Hills Nature Preserve in Loves Park, IL! Harlem Hills is a very special remnant prairie representing 70% of what is left of gravel hill prairie left in Illinois! Join the community working to tend and protect this special place! We'll work on brush removal in the draws and burn what we cut down in a solstice bonfire and enjoy some hot chocolate.
Please RSVP to Jessie ([email protected]) so we can give you directions on where to go and let you know of any weather cancelations. Wear clothes to work in that you don't mind getting dirty, a full water bottle, and sturdy shoes to wear. We provide tools, gloves, and snacks. Feel free to bring a friend along or a snack to share if you wish! We will provide hot chocolate.
Workdays take place regularly on the 4th Sunday of each month, plus extra pop-up workdays. Contact Jessie at [email protected] to join the email list for updates, reminders, and specific workday information.
