Did you know winter is the best time to sow native wildflower seeds in Michigan? Join the Kalkaska Conservation District in partnership with our friends at CAKE-CISMA (Charlevoix, Antrim, Kalkaska, Emmet- Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) and the Kaliseum in learning all about Michigan’s native wildflowers and how to properly stratify them so they can grow in your yard this spring!
This workshop will take place at the Kaliseum Recreation Complex on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
The workshop will begin with a presentation on Michigan native wildflowers. Participants will then make planters from recycled milk gallons to plant wildflower seeds of their choice.
A $10 registration fee includes everything needed to start your Michigan natives! Planter, soil, seeds, and all tools are included in your ticket cost. Light refreshments & snacks will be available. Participants will take home their planters at the conclusion of the workshop.
Space is limited so buy your ticket soon! Tickets can be purchased by going to our website (kalkaskaconservation.org/districtstore/sow), emailing [email protected], or calling the KCD office at 231-258-3307. Ticket sales will stay open until Monday, December 2 or until sold out.
